Bullies Can't Win!

“When people hurt you over and over, think of them like sand paper. They may scratch and hurt you a bit, but in the end, you end up polished and they end up useless.”
-Chris Colfer-

“It gets better. It seems hard, you know, I think being different is always gonna be a tough climb. There's always gonna be people that are scared of it. But at the end of the day you give those bullies, those people, that are so ignorant, if you give them the power to affect you, you're letting them win. And they don't deserve that. What you're doing by being yourself is you're keeping it real, and you're being really brave.”
-Adam Lambert-

"To thine own self be true."
- William Shakespeare-

"It is our choices ... that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities."
- J. K. Rowling (Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets)-

"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."
- Mother Teresa -

I always wanted a sun screen lotion that was healthy for the skin, and it seemed so hard to find.  Well, not today!  I stumbled upon this while reading some facebook posts.  Needless to say, I have ordered some for me and my little daughter.  I can rest assured knowing that I am not putting harmful chemicals on my skin, and yet....I am still protected from the sun!  Enjoy the heat wave one and all!  It's even safe for the sensitive coral reefs in areas like Mexico.  Click on the link below to be taken to the product:

Too Legit to Quit!

Don’t Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will;
When the road you’re trudging seems all uphill;
When the funds are low, and the debts are high;
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh;
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest if you must, but don’t you quit.
Success is failure turned inside out;
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt;
And you can never tell how close you are;
It may be near when it seems afar.
So, stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit -
It’s when things go wrong that you mustn’t quit.

You Are a Vibrant Being!

It's hard sometimes to believe in yourself and feel comfortable in your own skin, when the  world around you is shouting, "You're not good ENOUGH!"  However, one has to learn to shut those negative images, words, actions, etc. out of the mind.  It's easy to let these things overcome you.  The negative road is a road consistently travelled.  It takes practice to shut bad things out and leave room for positive things.
Take the time each day to tell yourself something you enjoy about who you are.  You are unique!  There is no one in the world like you!  Just because someone says something, it doesn't make it true.  It's up to YOU whether you want to give that negative feeling power.  The only way you give it power, is to give it your time.  Forget about it.  If you can't grow or learn from it, then chuck it out like yesterdays left-overs!
Remember, there is nothing wrong with improvement, but it has to be on your terms.  So many companies want to make money off of other people's pain and suffering.  It's disgusting!  STAND UP!  Straighten your posture and hold your head up high.  Learn to love more, laugh more, and smile kindly at strangers (even if they don't return the favour).  Do positive things daily that will benefit your life.  If you want to get healthier, again, do it on YOUR terms.  No one should dictate or pressure you to do anything you don't feel right doing.  You have to choose.  The buck cannot be passed.  If you want to feel better, you have to choose to fight for it!  You have to want to achieve that so badly that nothing can stand in your way!  Live today like it is your last (meditate on that statement for a moment.).  It may sound cliché, but it is profound.  What would you do, if today was the only day you had left?

Tips for a better sleep

  • Set a regular bedtime. Go to bed at the same time every night. Choose a time when you normally feel tired, so that you don’t toss and turn. Try not to break this routine on weekends when it may be tempting to stay up late. If you want to change your bedtime, help your body adjust by making the change in small daily increments, such as 15 minutes earlier or later each day.
  • Wake up at the same time every day. If you’re getting enough sleep, you should wake up naturally without an alarm. If you need an alarm clock to wake up on time, you may need to set an earlier bedtime. As with your bedtime, try to maintain your regular wake–time even on weekends.
  • Nap to make up for lost sleep. If you need to make up for a few lost hours, opt for a daytime nap rather than sleeping late. This strategy allows you to pay off your sleep debt without disturbing your natural sleep–wake rhythm, which often backfires in insomnia and throws you off for days.
  • Be smart about napping. While taking a nap can be a great way to recharge, especially for older adults, it can make insomnia worse. If insomnia is a problem for you, consider eliminating napping. If you must nap, do it in the early afternoon, and limit it to thirty minutes.
  • Fight after–dinner drowsiness. If you find yourself getting sleepy way before your bedtime, get off the couch and do something mildly stimulating to avoid falling asleep, such as washing the dishes, calling a friend, or getting clothes ready for the next day. If you give in to the drowsiness, you may wake up later in the night and have trouble getting back to sleep.

  • Remove your sunglasses in the morning and let light onto your face.
  • Spend more time outside during daylight. Try to take your work breaks outside in sunlight, exercise outside, or walk your dog during the day instead of at night.
  • Let as much light into your home/workspace as possible. Keep curtains and blinds open during the day, move your desk closer to the window.
  • If necessary, use a light therapy box. A light therapy box can simulate sunshine and can be especially useful during short winter days when there’s limited daylight.

  • Turn off your television and computer. Many people use the television to fall asleep or relax at the end of the day. Not only does the light suppress melatonin production, but television can actually stimulate the mind, rather than relaxing it. Try listening to music or audio books instead, or practicing relaxation exercises. If your favorite TV show is on late at night, record it for viewing earlier in the day.
  • Don’t read from a backlit device at night (such as an iPad). If you use a portable electronic device to read, use an eReader that is not backlit, i.e. one that requires an additional light source such as a bedside lamp.
  • Change your light bulbs. Avoid bright lights before bed, use low-wattage bulbs instead.
  • When it’s time to sleep, make sure the room is dark. The darker it is, the better you’ll sleep. Cover electrical displays, use heavy curtains or shades to block light from windows, or try an eye mask to cover your eyes.
  • Use a flashlight to go to the bathroom at night. As long as it’s safe to do so, keep the light to a minimum so it will be easier to go back to sleep.
